Regulations on Conferring Bachelor’s Degree to International Undergraduates of China Three Gorges University

Article 1 In view of the reality of our university, this regulation is formulated in accordance with the Regulations of People’s Republic of China on Academic Degree, Temporary Measures for the Implementation of Regulations of People’s Republic of China on Academic Degree, Temporary Measures for Conferring Academic Degree to International Students of Regular Higher Education Institutions (promulgated by Academic Degree Committee of the State Council), Regulations on Conferring Bachelor’s Degree to Undergraduates of Regular Higher Education of China Three Gorges University (Revised).

Article 2 The bachelor's degree shall be conferred upon the subject and major authorized by the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council and the Provincial Academic Degree Committee.

Article 3 Bachelor’s Degree shall be conferred to the international undergraduates who meet the following requirements:

 (1) Observing law and discipline and well-behaved during the whole process of study;

 (2) Having completed all the training process prescribed by the talent training plan and practical training, passed all the assessment, and obtained enough credits for graduation as required;

 (3) Having initially mastered the Chinese Language. Students shall take the HSK test and reach the standard required by the university.

Article 4 Bachelor’s Degree shall not be conferred to the international undergraduates who have any of the following conditions：

 (1) Those who have failed to comply with Article 3;

 (2) Those who have violated state laws and regulations and received criminal punishment;

 (3) Those who have violated university rules and regulations and is still under probation;

 (4) Those serious offenders who have plagiarized others' research results.

Article 5 The time of applying for the bachelor's degree shall be in the same year as the time of issue of the graduation certificate. The university will not accept applications for students who have not applied within the deadline or withdrew application halfway.

Article 6 Procedures of conferring the bachelor’s degree:

(1) Each college shall evaluate each graduate according to the degree-conferring requirements, fill in the CTGU Check-list of Graduation Eligibility and Bachelor’s Degree for International Undergraduates, propose the list of graduates who shall be conferred the bachelor's degree, and submit the list to the Department of International Relations.

(2) The Department of International Relations shall summarize and reevaluate the list of all related colleges, and then submit the list to the University Academic Degree Evaluation Committee.

(3) The University Academic Degree Evaluation Committee shall review the list and make the decision to confer the bachelor’s degree.

Article 7 The University shall confer bachelor’s degree to those who have been approved by the University Academic Degree Evaluation Committee. The department of international relations is responsible for producing the certificate of bachelor's degree and related online registration. Each college is responsible for distributing the certificate to its graduates.

Article 8 If the student has any objection to the degree conferring, he/she shall submit a written appeal to the Department of International Relations within 60 working days after receiving the decision of the University Academic Degree Evaluation Committee (but shall not be later than December 10 of the year). After receiving the written appeal, the Department of International Relations shall submit related documents to the University Academic Degree Evaluation Committee for review within 60 working days (but shall not be later than December 20 of the year),. The decision of review will be informed to the applicant in written by the Department of International Relations.

Article 9 The Department of International Relations is responsible for explaining the Regulations under the authorization of the University Academic Degree Evaluation Committee.

Article 10 The Regulations shall come into force as of the date of its publication. The previous Regulations on Conferring Bachelor’s Degree for International Undergraduates of China Three Gorges University (Trial) (No.53 〔2010〕, Foreign Affairs of CTGU) shall be annulled simultaneously.
